If you fail to lodge your 2014/5 Tax return with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) by 31 January, you will be subject to an automatic fine.
No paper reminders that there is a return due or tax payable will be sent by HMRC, unless your tax return was submitted by 31 December 2015, in which case a reminder of the tax due will be sent.
HMRC is moving increasingly towards digital-only communications with taxpayers and has also steadily reduced the number of tax offices where face to face meetings can take place.
