The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas) has issued revised guidance for employers on how to handle transfers to which the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) apply. This takes into account changes to the legislation introduced by the Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
The guidance, entitled ‘Handling TUPE transfers: the Acas Guide’, outlines the step-by-step process of how to conduct a TUPE transfer, primarily from an employment relations perspective but it also includes legal and good practice guidance to provide a more rounded view of the topic.
A more technical overview of TUPE, entitled ‘Employment Rights on the Transfer of an Undertaking’, was issued by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in January 2014.
