The Patents County Court was only formed in 2010, but has already become a victim of its success. Because of the great increase in workload of the court, it has been ‘rebranded’ as the ‘Intellectual Property Enterprise Court’, and has become a specialist court in its own right within the Chancery Division of the High Court.
It deals with all IP issues using specialist judges and is known for the speed with which cases are decided.
